Is their a little nazi in all of us??

Posted by Brendan Rusanen on July 25, 2011 at 8:29pm 1 Comment

I do believe that there is a little bit of nazi in us. In saying this I look at when the race began, that thier was jealousy towards people who may be richer then you but when hitler saw this he resented the Jews for Germany's problems in the 1930's as still today this minor jealously can manifest its self in people who might no have as much as others.

Betrayal of the Greeks

Posted by Courtney Jeffers on July 25, 2011 at 7:18pm 0 Comments

Within the betrayal of the Greeks,

the future of the Persians became bleak.

From battle to battle, lived on this fighting streak,

death surrounded what everyone wants to seek.

Small against big, big against small,

one of the two were bound to fall.

Each soldier wanting to stand tall,

though they all wait together, waiting for their Kings call.

Beaten black blue and red,

in their heavy armour, they lay there dead.

This is the first attempt with a multi modal website for 2 of the students. Weebly is a great starting place.

Where high school history students from around the world come together and share, co-operate, challenge, assist and inspire each other.

Join the network!

Welcome to this network of high school history students from around the world. Please make this your space; you can chat, post to the forum, add pictures or videos. You can ask for help or pose a question for others to discuss. It's up to you. Just make sure it's related to your history studies and nothing you post is rude or offensive. Enjoy!

Teachers...

Teachers, introduce yourself and provide some information about yourself, your area and your students. You'll be responsible for accepting/removing/moderating the behaviour of your students on the network. Welcome!

Is Social Mobility attainable for all?

The ability to move between social classes in a society - particularly a meritocracy - allows people to have an equal opportunity in life regardless of the family and lifestyle they were born into. In a meritocracy, people are privileged and rewarded based their achievements therefore theoretically speaking, the harder one works and the more effort they exert the greater chance of improving their social class and gaining greater social mobility. However, this could be countered by pointing out…See More

Love ayn rand, especially Atlas shrugged. Im reading the fountainhead at the moment :) I think that if an individuals rights were respected in regards to equality of opportunity there would be no need for societal agents to intervene. And yes,…

Hmm. Sounds a bit like Ayn Rand. You should check her out. I think you and her would have agreed. So are you proposing therefore that society should be laissez-faire, that government or other societal agents should not intervene to protect or…

The idea of the society dictating the individual's within it, is basically communism right? I understand what you're saying entirely and I agree. The idea of everyone having a broken leg can be translated into the classless society that…

Should society be able to dictate an individual’s opportunities for the “common good” to achieve “equality?”

When “the common good” of a society is regarded as something apart from and superior to the individual good of its members, it means that the good of some men takes precedence over the good of others, which already eradicates the achievement of societal equality. Under the belief that self-immolation in terms of receiving no benefit for a sacrifice-not even the righteous feeling that one may receive from such an act- is the moral responsibility of an individual to society and is to be…See More
